Bridgestone announces Toolbox Touch app
Fleet operators visiting Bridgestone at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show will get the first glimpse of an innovative new Bridgestone global application. The world’s largest tyre manufacturer has developed a digital fleet management solution to meet the needs of operators and the brand’s sales and technical teams alike. The ‘Toolbox Touch’ is a native Windows 8 application designed for tablets, which records huge quantities of tyre data clearly and concisely.
The tyres’ data is accumulated and registered on the “Toolbox”, which then provides analysis and reports. Through the user-friendly interface, fleet managers can access vital information and keep track of monthly expenses, pressure maintenance, removal causes, retreadability, tyre life, cost per kilometre, inventory control, and much more.
Product and marketing manager Andy Mathias said: “The app represents a big advance in both technology and efficiency for Bridgestone. It records inspection of tyres on vehicles and quickly generates user-friendly reports for fleet consulting services.”
The ToolBox application categorises the Total Tyre Care approach into three distinct packages: Monitor, Manage and Maintain. The Monitor package is aimed at fleets who purchase tyres through a service provider or tyre dealer, but would welcome assistance in optimising or confirming a total tyre maintenance programme.
By subscribing to this service, Bridgestone tyre professionals will visit the fleet periodically and inspect a sample of tyres on vehicles as well as removed and end of life tyres. The data is captured on Toolbox and presented back to the fleet to provide a real insight into tyre maintenance and performance levels including pressure analysis, damage analysis, main causes of removal and retreadability analysis. Bridgestone will then work in partnership with the fleet to transfer this analysis in to real financial savings. Fleets visiting the CV Show in April will have a chance to win a 1 year Monitor Package free of charge.
As part of The Monitor package, Bridgestone tyre professionals and service partners will compile a comprehensive tyre and maintenance package tailor-made to meet fleet requirements (over and above the Monitor package).
