New Volvo C30, V50 performance exhaust from Milltek

Date: 27th June 2013 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

The words “sporting Volvo diesel” may have seemed paradoxical not long ago, but exhaust supplier Milltek believes the manufacturer’s new C30 R-Line 2.4 and 2.5 T5 respond well enough to tuning and enhancement that it has added an exhaust system for both models to its burgeoning portfolio. The company has also created a tailored system for the V50 model with the same engine options.

Multiple configurations are available, allowing enthusiasts the ability to spec a system to their own precise requirements, or to upgrade their exhaust piecemeal in order to spread the cost over a longer period. On the diesel cars, a non-resonated system can be ordered either as a cat or turbo-back configuration, while on the petrol models, owners can also add in the options of a resonated or non-resonated centre section to detune or increase noise as their demands dictate.

All pipework and box fabrication is completed by Milltek’s craftsmen in the UK using 304-grade non-magnetic stainless steel throughout. The Derbyshire manufacturer has honed noise levels across all options to keep the soundtrack sporting and purposeful under load without unwanted cabin boom or resonance..

Based around carefully optimised 70mm / 2.76” pipework and terminating in the attractive and homogenous looking dual GT-100 polished trims, the systems look, work and feel like factory upgrade options, Milltek claims. The system’s price starts at £619.49 excluding VAT for the C30 D5 cat back system.
