Conti promotes Seabra to Asia Pacific role

Date: 5th January 2012 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Continental has named the new executive vice-president for its replacement passenger and light truck tyres Asia Pacific business unit. Antonio Lopes de Seabra, formerly in charge of Continental Mabor in Portugal, takes over from Andreas Esser in the role and reports directly to Nikolai Setzer. Esser has taken over responsibility for Conti’s commercial vehicle tyres business unit, effective 1 January.

Seabra joined Continental in 1990 as purchasing manager and five years later was appointed plant operations manager there. In October 2000 he took on the role of CEO and plant manager at Continental Mabor Indústria de Pneus S.A. Seabra holds a masters degree in Electrotechnical Engineering from the University of Porto. For the last 12 years he has also been president of the Board of Directors at the APIB, the Portuguese Rubber Manufacturers Association.

Continental says that Seabra will continue the expansion of its position as a leading aftermarket passenger and light truck tyre supplier in the rapidly growing Asia Pacific region.
