Stapleton’s invests to supply the right van tyre

Date: 28th April 2011 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Long established as a leading UK tyre distributor, and named Tyre Wholesaler of the Year at the NTDA Tyre and Fast Fit Awards 2010, Stapleton’s reports it has continued to place an emphasis on customer needs in 2011. This emphasis includes a focus on the company’s product portfolio and in ensuring the needs of both large and small van operators are catered for. The result, says Stapleton’s, is an even broader range that encompasses all van tyre sizes – including premium brands as well as a comprehensive range of mid-price and budget products. The company plans to continue developing its van tyre sector further still throughout the remainder of 2011 in line with its overriding ‘working for the customer’ philosophy.

Stapleton’s stocks all premium brands, including Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop, Goodyear, Pirelli and Michelin as well as a good choice of products from its own exclusive brands, including the Kleber, Matador, Nexen and Primewell ranges.

Manufactured by Michelin, the Kleber Transpro is a mid-range van tyre for all van types. The Transpro is available in 11 sizes across the 15 and 16-inch ranges and has been designed for safety and reliability with excellent traction on wet surfaces. Developed for small and mid-sized commercial vans, the Matador MPS 320 Maxilla is a product that Stapleton’s says offers car-like performance for vans; stated strengths are the tyre’s wet weather qualities and low noise levels The range is available in 18 sizes from 14 to 16-inches. Now a well-established brand in the UK, Nexen offers three van patterns covering 14 sizes from 13 to 16-inches. The most popular, the Nexen CP321 has been designed for multi-purpose vehicles with a key feature being the solid shoulder rib which provides responsive handling and even wear. Last but not least is a recent addition to Stapleton’s van range, the Primewell PV600. Covering 20 sizes from 14” to 16-inches the PV600 is said to provide a quiet ride whilst its extra endurance technology enables a high load with good safety margins.

“Whether you’re an individual driver or the operator of a fleet of vans, you can’t afford to have vehicles laid up waiting for tyres to come into stock,” comments Stapleton’s trading director Steve Parker. “That’s why we’ve not only expanded our range of van tyres dramatically – we’ve also invested heavily in logistics and warehousing to ensure that we always have the right tyres in precisely the right locations.”

With its recently expanded network of nine warehouses holding 1,000,000 tyres, seven distribution points as well as its ProfitLink real-time online ordering system, Stapleton’s is confident it is better placed than ever to put its national operation on a local footing, thus ensuring customers can be doubly confident that Stapleton’s is the best choice for all their tyre needs.

“With our own fleet of 275 vans offering twice-daily, same-day and next-day services, we’re no strangers to the demands of a 24-hour, time-sensitive operation and we believe our customers will appreciate that genuine understanding of commercial vehicle operators’ needs,” concludes Stapleton’s head of marketing and range planning, Stephen Childs. “Reliability and immediacy of supply is paramount to our customers and we have entire teams dedicated to providing them with the right tyres, in the right place, at the right time – and at the right price.”
