Bridgestone OE on Ferrari 458

Date: 7th January 2010 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Any niggling doubts you might hold as to whether there is space in your driveway for the Ferrari 458 Italia may be put to rest by Bridgestone’s announced supply of its new Potenza S-001 UHP tyre as original equipment on the recently released Italian supercar.

“Bridgestone is privileged to have been selected by Ferrari as an official tyre supplier partner for the exciting new 458 Italia,” said Didier Schneider, vice president Original Equipment, Bridgestone Europe. “Both Ferrari and Bridgestone compete to the highest of standards in Formula One, the pinnacle of single-seater racing where performance and safety are the ultimate goals. We are proud of this relationship, working both on the race track and on road car projects together.”

Bridgestone’s development of tyres and OEM supply on cars produced in Maranello began with the Ferrari 348 in 1990. Many of Ferrari’s flagship models have been fitted with Bridgestone tyres, including the 612 Scaglietti, the Enzo Ferrari and the Superamerica. Bridgestone has also supplied Potenza F1 racing tyres to the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team every year since 1999 – a period of time in which Ferrari has won the Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship eight times and the Drivers’ Championships on seven occasions.
