Tesco Extends Bandvulc Contract

Date: 21st May 2009 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Tesco, the largest retailer in the UK and third largest globally, is to continue its long term agreement with Bandvulc Tyres, the Devon-based commercial tyre manager and retreader. Bandvulc’s tyre management facility, BTC, manages all of the commercial tyre requirements of Tesco Distribution, Fuel and Northern Ireland operations, making it one of the largest non-transport fleets in Europe

Nigel Baranowski, head of engineering support for Tesco commented: “Bandvulc have provided us yet again with a commercially viable tyre management option which sees them managing the tyres on our fleet of trucks and trailers throughout the UK. Our requirements are stringent as we have to deliver products 24/7 across the whole of the UK. We are generally happy with BTC’s management processes which provide Tesco with first class responses for its demanding fleet profile needs. Also, the recent introduction of a disaster recovery service gives us added peace of mind. They also offer assistance in other aspects of tyre issues including visible communications to our DCs, driver awareness literature and gate checks to ensure that policy and criteria remain on target.”

Philip West, commercial director for Bandvulc adds: “It is especially rewarding to maintain Tesco as a key client of Bandvulc. We have as a team, worked really hard on all aspects of our relationship with Tesco and have delivered quality in all that we do. We know the importance of their operations and have designed bespoke solutions to meet and exceed their expectations.”
