Brityrex 2009 Appoints Steering Committee

Peter Gaster, group managing director of KRT and current chair of the NTDA, has agreed to lead a new steering committee, which was formed by the NTDA to support the organisers of Brityrex in the run-up to Brityrex 2009. Alan Baldwin, David White, Ashley Croft and Darren Duguid are just a few of the other well known industry names that have committed their time to the project (full list below). “We are delighted to attract such a wide range of talent from our sector and I look forward to working with the group to further develop this vital show for the UK tyre industry,” Peter Gaster commented. The first meeting of the steering group will take place in London on Thursday 6 December.

The Committee will provide guidance and act as a sounding board to assist show organiser ECI International develop the full potential of Brityrex as the representative tyre show for the UK industry. Key areas to take forward over the next 18 months will be plans to attract increased trade visitor numbers, initiatives to ensure the event is fully representative of all sectors of the industry and the development of a program of support activity to add value to the visitor experience.

Paul Farrant, managing director of ECI International, said that the input of the Committee would be important in shaping the content and presentation of the exhibition: “We’re delighted that so many senior figures are prepared to invest their time and ideas in helping to take Brityrex forward. We’ve always maintained that the show should reflect the industry’s needs and priorities and with the input of the Committee we’re confident that this will happen in 2009.”

The Brityrex 2009 Steering Committee is made up of:

Brityrex 2009 will run from the 22-24 September 2009 at Manchester Central (G-Mex). The exhibition is being sponsored by the NTDA, which will stage its Annual Dinner and 2009 TAFF Awards during the event, on the evening of 23 September.
