Under-Inflation Solution?

Date: 8th February 2006 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

“With under-inflated tyres responsible for 6 per cent of all fatal motorway accidents – why isn’t more done to prevent tyre pressure?,” asks tyre pressure monitoring company, TPM Systems.

For as little as 1p a day says it an bring a range of systems to the motorist. The Quik-Chek has been developed as a safe and quick way to accurately gauge tyre pressure – by simply pressing a button. However, while the gauge design is, by its very nature a direct monitoring system it does not update drivers in realtime or while they are driving. On the other hand it must be significantly cheaper than the aftermarket alternatives.

The Quik-Chek tyre pressure monitor measures tyre pressures between 20 – 44psi (1.4 -3.0bar). This unique product uses a technology that gives accurate tyre pressure readings at all times and has the capability of showing three levels of pressure; under inflation, proper inflation and over inflation. With its unique temperature compensation technology it will accurately read tyre pressure in either tropical or frigid conditions.

Commenting on the Quik-Chek concept managing director of TPM Systems, Simon Bruce said: “We distribute a wide range of tyre pressure monitors to suit cars and commercial vehicles and are keen to raise awareness of the difference our products can make to tyre life and fuel consumption – which for our users who may have significant fuel bills and undertake high mileage on an annual basis both of these benefits will have a dramatic impact on their business.”

Quik-Chek is available as a keychain or as a permanent replacement for old dust caps. The keychain version is also ideal for promotional branding – company names can easily be printed onto the side of the monitor.
