Stapletons: Prestivo Comes with Brand Support and Exclusivity

Offering comfort and stability without sacrificing any of the thrills of driving, the exclusive Prestivo range from Stapleton’s is available in two tread patterns; the Prestivo 2000 and the Prestivo Sport. There are 35 tyre sizes available in the Prestivo 2000 range and 21 in the Sport range.

Available exclusively to members of Stapleton’s Prestivo Partners scheme, the range is said to have had a warm recept since its introduction last year. Steve Parker, Stapleton’s trading director, says: “Interest in the Prestivo range has exceeded our targets but has not surprised us as we feel the attractive support package has encouraged customers to sign up to the scheme.”

The Prestivo Partners scheme was created to ensure all retailers receive the backing and support they need to maximise sales of Prestivo Tyres. Partners enjoy attractive rebates, branded clothing, in-store support including posters, POS materials and other branded support items.

Stapleton’s Unveils New Look ProfitLink

Stapleton’s, one of the UK’s largest tyre wholesalers, has refreshed ProfitLink, its online stock ordering site. As one of the first distributors to offer an online ordering system, Stapleton’s understands how important it is for customers to be able to view stock availability before placing an order. Stapleton’s trading director, Steve Parker, commented: “ProfitLink has been available for a few years now and has been very successful. We’ve had fantastic feedback from customers about how easy it is to use and how much they rely on being able to check availability of stock.”

“ProfitLink is a sophisticated business tool used by many customers and is growing in popularity. It allows customers to place orders directly via their computer as well as accessing manufacturer’s technical information, view images of the tyres to help with identification of tread patterns.”

The new look site maintains the easy to navigate drop down menus, live stock and up to date pricing information along with the ability to manage accounts at anytime by checking the progress of orders and viewing or printing copy invoices.

Stapleton’s Reshuffles Management Team

Stapleton’s has announced it is restructuring its management team giving current wholesale director Steve Parker a new role. With 20 years service at Stapleton’s, Steve has an outstanding understanding of the needs of the company’s customers as well as knowledge of products available and the UK tyre market as a whole. In his current role, Steve has instigated many improvements to the company including the introduction of Prestivo, Stapleton’s own brand tyre range, and dealer partnership schemes for both Prestivo and Nexen brands.

Partnership to Fuel Cement Industry

The scrap tyre companies Sapphire Energy Recovery and Saltire Recovery have entered into a major contract with tyre wholesaler and retailer Stapleton’s Tyre Services. The three-year contract, that commenced at the end of 2006, will see Sapphire and Saltire potentially receive more than a million worn out tyres a year.

Stapletons Expands Van Fleet

Stapletons has added 40 brand new Renault Master Panel Vans to its delivery fleet, a move the company says signals its commitment to improving its “fast, efficient and reliable delivery service.” Through its six distribution centres in Letchworth, Wakefield, Coatbridge, Bristol, Burton and Warrington, Stapletons stocks over 500,000 tyres and delivers to over 6,000 customers making the van fleet a vital aspect of the business. Stapleton’s Moves Forward in Wholesale Market

It’s been a busy year for STS Stapleton’s as the company overhauled its wholesale business but the fact remains that it is one of the largest wholesale distributors of passenger car tyres in the UK. Through its six distribution centres in Letchworth, Wakefield, Coatbridge, Bristol, Burton and Warrington, Stapleton’s carries a large and diverse stock of tyres.

Chief executive Kenji Murai described the intentions behind recent developments at Stapleton’s: “Everything we do is with our customers in mind and this goes for the whole business including internal communication channels, delivery targets and stock control. As a result we have improved our relationship with our customers over the past twelve months.”

STS Appoints Fast Fit Manager

STS has appointed Keith Smith as its new centre manager at its Rainham based fast fit outlet. The new recruit joins STS Man on Wheels from his previous position at Hi-Q Tyre Service, where he was a technician for six years.

Mr Smith will be reporting to Stapleton’s regional manager Guy Wheeler, and will also manage 13 other members of staff.

Stapletons Joins Whistleblower Hotline

Security Risk Management Ltd (SRM), a UK provider of operational risk management services, has announced that it has added Stapletons Tyre Services to its client portfolio. From 1 June SRM will be offering a dedicated confidential phone service providing Stapletons employees with the opportunity to raise any concerns relating to illegal or improper behaviour in the workplace. The service will be open to all of Stapleton’s 800 employees.

New Centre Manager at STS Warrington

Stapleton’s Tyre Services’ Warrington centre has appointed a new centre manager. Mike Harrison arrived at the Manchester Road-based branch in August. He joined STS after 25 years with the brewers, Scottish and Newcastle, where he oversaw the business management, stock and audits of over 40 pubs.

Mr Harrison, from Bolton, is aiming to use his experience and management expertise to great effect at the Warrington branch, which has been open for twelve months. “I was looking for an exciting challenge and have found it with STS. Our focus will be to continue to provide exemplary customer service, and gradually build up trade at this branch,” he said commenting on his new position. Mr Harrison, who is currently recruiting more staff for the Warrington branch, believes being competitive on price and building a strong reputation with the local community is key to the success of the business. “I’m already enjoying my role. STS is very strong in customer service which is essential in encouraging repeat business,” the new manager added.
