RH Claydon Invests In Renault Van Fleet

Date: 15th September 2006 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Bury St Edmunds based R H Claydon distributes tyres from its headquarters and a further four branches across the UK using a fleet of over 30 vehicles, the majority of which are Renault Master vans. The fleet has grown in recent years as R H Claydon has supplied customers in new areas.

“Distribution to customers by the company’s own dedicated van fleet, backed by a 24 hour delivery via carrier has made the company’s name synonymous with service, efficiency, and reliability, gaining the respect of customers and suppliers alike,” said John Parker, Group Purchasing Manager for R H Claydon.

“We supply tyres for everything from a small jockey wheel on a caravan, to large tyres for earth movers. We have hundreds of customers across the UK and our delivery vehicles typically cover between 40,000 and 50,000 miles a year. We mainly use Master long wheelbase/high roof and Luton vans, because of their good payload and low loading height, which is important for health and safety reasons.”

Rawlinson, another Bury business, has helped R H Claydon in its drive to supply products to more tyre retailers across the UK. The Easlea Road Renault dealer supplies the tyre wholesaler with its Renault vans, which, once they have adopted their distinctive livery, are sent to work from one of five locations around the UK.
