National Grid warns of ‘dramatic’ jump in electricity demand, due to electric vehicles

A dramatic growth in electric vehicles on Britain’s roads could see peak electricity demand jump by more than the capacity of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station by 2030, according to National Grid.

Don’t be caught out by power cuts – Machine Mart

Machine Mart is warning its customers to prepare themselves against the possibility of power cuts, citing an announcement from the National Grid, which says the risk of households and companies experiencing energy blackouts this winter is at its most severe for a decade… the difference between available supply and expected peak demand is 1.2 per cent, the lowest since 2005-06.
