Chem-Trend expands in Eastern Europe

Chem-Trend, the release agent manufacturer, has acquired the release agent business of its long-time distribution partner in Romania, Rubio Trading & Consulting SRL. As part of a planned growth strategy in Eastern Europe, Chem-Trend Romania SRL has been established through the acquisition. Chem-Trend Romania will continue to support the local market in the existing industries of polyurethane and rubber moulding, thermoplastics processing, die casting and tyre manufacturing.

Chem-Trend expanding European headquarters

Chem-Trend, the release agents, purging compounds and other ancillary moulding products supplier, and its parent company Freudenberg Chemical Specialities (FCS) have broked ground on the construction and expansion of its facilities in the Maisach Gernlinden area outside Munich, Germany. Chem-Trend’s European headquarters, already located at the site, will expand as part of the project to create an approximately $45 million complex that will also encompass facilities and services for two additional FCS business units, Klüber Lubrication Munich and OKS Specialty Lubricants. FCS is a member of the Freudenberg Group, a technology company active throughout the world.

Chem-Trend Release Single Application Curing Envelope Treatment

Chem-Trend recently launched a single application curing envelope treatment aimed at the retreading industry. Mono-Lube 2006 is designed to increase curing envelope life, while providing “easy release from the cured tyre.” A typical life for a tyre retread curing envelope is 40 – 60 tyres, however according to the Chem-Trend Mono-Lube 2006 can extend life by between 33 to 100 per cent. In addition to providing good release from a cured tyre, it also provides good slip, enabling accurate positioning over the next, uncured tyre.

Chem-Trend Launches Curing Bladder Treatment for Tyres

Chem-Trend, a global manufacturer of release agents and other process chemical specialties, has announced the launch of Mono-Lube 1111, a new high performance tyre-curing bladder treatment for the tyre manufacturing industry.

Chem-Trend states that initial field tests have shown that tyre-curing bladders coated with Mono-Lube 1111 can extend bladder life up to 40 per cent. Mono-Lube 1111 cures in one hour at room temperature and provides similar performance to coatings that are baked onto the surface of a curing bladder. It can be applied by various methods including brush, sponge or spray application.

The new product is the latest addition to the Mono-Lube family of products for the tyre manufacturing industry. Chem-Trend’s full line of products includes inside tyre paints, outside tyre paints, curing bladder coatings and the Mono-Coat brand of tyre mould treatments.

Kumho Adds Three Sales Managers

(Akron/Tire Review) Kumho Tire USA Inc. has added three sales managers to its ranks.

Aaron Duty joins Kumho as a regional sales manager for southern California and Arizona. He had been a district sales manager for Toyo Tire (USA) Corp. Before that, he served as a service technician with Sears Automotive and previously as a fabricator and engineering laboratory technician. Duty earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from California Polytechnic State University.

John Krajewski has been appointed a regional sales manager for Wisconsin, Illinois and northern Michigan. He spent 15 years with U.S. Tire & Exhaust and five years with Chem-Trend, a company that sells mould release chemicals to the tyre industry. Krajewski earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Northern Illinois University.

The 6th International Exhibition on Tyres and Rubber Technology

China’s leading rubber exhibition – Tyres & RubberTech China 2006 (organized by China United Rubber Group Corporation) will take place from 20-22 November 2006 at INTEX Shanghai. The trade fair will occupy an exhibition area of 12,000 square metres, signifying a growth of 100 per cent from the 2005 event. More 400 exhibitors and about 8,000 trade visitors are expected to meet at the exhibition.
