Prinx evolves all-season offer with Quattura 4S+, introduces van tyres

When Prinx Chengshan officially debuted its flagship Prinx brand in Europe last year, the launch range included a product targeting the growing all-season segment – the Prinx Quattura 4S. Despite this tyre’s relatively recent introduction, the manufacturer will roll out a successor in 2024. Dr Piotr Zielak, sales director for Prinx in the CEE region, explains why a new generation tyre has arrived so soon.
“The Prinx Quattura 4S is a great product. But we are a flexible manufacturer and great is not good enough for us if we can make ongoing improvements,” states Zielak. “That’s why we decided to go one step ahead and develop Quattura 4S+.”
Those familiar with the Quattura 4S will struggle to spot the differences between this and the 4S+. Both tyres feature identical v-shaped directional tread patterns; Zielak comments that the new tyre delivers better performance thanks to an improved compound.
TÜV SÜD testing verifies performance
As evidence of the performance levels that Prinx Quattura 4S+ delivers, Zielak shares results of testing performed by TÜV SÜD that pit the updated tyre against two unnamed tier one competitors; we’d also liked to have seen the 4S included in this testing.
What the TÜV SÜD testing shows is that the Quattura 4S+ outperformed its rivals when it comes to braking, acceleration and grip on snow, as well as in certain wet and dry tests such as longitudinal aquaplaning, dry braking and rolling resistance. “With this new product, we can offer drivers more safety in all possible weather conditions,” comments Zielak. TÜV SÜD certification is currently pending but expected very soon.
Van tyres join range as UK launch nears
Prinx Quattura 4S+ will replace the 4S in the first half of this year. The new tyre will occupy the same price position as the model it succeeds. UK customers will likely have the chance to get to know this updated all-season range soon, as Prinx Chengshan is currently in negotiations with a preferred UK partner for its Prinx passenger tyre range.
In addition to the product lines shown at the official Prinx European brand launch in 2023 – the XNEX Sport and XLAB Comfort lines for electric vehicles, the Aquila PRO high-performance and Aquila REV ultra-high-performance patterns and the Winter Excelia, new van tyres have also joined the Prinx range. These are the Prinx Vanea summer tyre, which will debut in Q4 2024 in 20 sizes, and the Vanea 4S, a 3PMSF-certified all-season tyre which is currently available in 13 dimensions, with a further six arriving later this year.
