Cooper restarts tyre production in Mexico

Date: 14th April 2020 Author: Stephen Goodchild Comments: 0

Operations at Cooper Tire & Rubber Company’s production facility in El Salto, Mexico resumed yesterday. Measures to protect the health and safety of employees, including social distancing, additional cleaning and disinfecting of facilities, as well as restricted visitor access, were put in place as employees returned to work. Cooper announced the plant’s temporary closure due to coronavirus impacts on 21 March.

Cooper’s plants in the United States, which are located in Findlay, Ohio; Clarksdale and Tupelo, Mississippi; and Texarkana, Arkansas, remain temporarily closed. The company said on 10 April that it expected these plants to remain temporarily closed for at least another two weeks. Cooper plants in Europe also continue to be temporarily closed, while the company’s plants in China continue to operate.
