Kordsa raises CDP Climate Change Report score 3 grades

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) raised Kordsa’s score from C- to B in 2019. According to the company, CDP raised Kordsa’s score from C- (the first and lower grade of the “awareness” band) to B (the second and upper grade of the “management” band) in 2019 as a result of the efforts Kordsa carried out to manage risks and opportunities related to climate change.

In Kordsa’s 2018 Sustainability Report, the fifth edition of which was published last year, the value chain and sustainability effects of tyre reinforcement and composite technologies business lines were schematically demonstrated, unlike previous years. As a result of its efforts to produce lighter and more durable tyre and composite materials using less energy and materials, its number of patent applications reached 670 and the number of inventions reached 183 as of the end of 2018. Kordsa saved about US$1.82 million through its recycling efforts by reusing approximately 3 million paper tubes. The company’s environmental investment through emission management, waste management and training are said to be worth $790 thousand.
