Schaeffler to demo workshop of the future at Automechanika Frankfurt 2018

Schaeffler will look to the future with a range of innovative mixed and augmented reality exhibits when Automechanika Frankfurt opens its doors in September.

Schaeffler is tempting visitors to its 1,000sqm stand (Hall 0, Stand A01) by inviting them on a tour of the ‘garage of tomorrow’. To illustrate how technicians could be working in the future, a team of Schaeffler Repxperts will guide visitors through a LuK dual mass flywheel replacement and an INA timing chain overhaul – all carried out live on-stand and in real-time using interactive support.

The company will also unveil its latest ‘glass car’ concept, in line with the ‘Tomorrow’s Service and Mobility’ theme at this year’s Automechanika. This new exhibit highlights around 40 Schaeffler products and technologies, including the e-clutch, intelligent anti-roll control stabiliser, thermal management module and electric axle. And it isn’t the only car that will be making its appearance at Automechanika Frankfurt either: Mike ‘Rocky’ Rockenfeller’s Schaeffler-sponsored Audi Sport Team Phoenix RS5 DTM will be on display outside Hall 0.

Schaeffler Repxperts will also be working at five workstations, all fitted with tablets directly linked to the Repxpert website. Visitors will be given a personal, step-by-step tour of how to maximise the benefits of Repxpert in their workshop, whilst also developing their knowledge of LuK transmission, INA engine and FAG safety critical chassis systems.

Mark Dolloway, sales director at Schaeffler (UK) Ltd, said: “We want our visitors to engage and get involved with the exhibits, not just be spectators. Our motto is ‘Get more – be part of it’, so we want visitors to get ‘more’ out of their Automechanika experience by getting stuck in.”
