Doublestar constructing tyre recycling plant

Qingdao Doublestar broke ground on an industry 4.0 scrap rubber recycling plant in December 2017. When fully operational, the $92.7 million plant will process 200,000 tons of scrap rubber annually.

The project is comprised of two phases, with 100,000 tons of annual capacity for each. Phase 1 functionality is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2018, according to Doublestar.

The plant is designed to sort, rinse, dry and convey tyres, while also featuring pyrolysis and storage sections. Result products include: oil, carbon black, steel wire, and gas – which will be used to fuel the plant.
