Dunlop to supply Aston Martin GT4 Cup

Dunlop is now supplying the Aston Martin GT4 series

Dunlop Motorsport has been chosen to be the Official Tyre Partner for the launch of the ‘Aston Martin GT4 Cup’ – a prestigious new UK GT4 race series for Aston Martin V8 Vantage race cars. The new series will be strongly promoted in 2015 with a full calendar of events across the UK. The races will be organised by Aston Club Racing who have vast experience in organising racing series for modern and historic Aston Martins.

The new agreement means Dunlop will supply its latest 2015 specification GT tyres for all the 445bhp Aston Martin Vantage GT4 race cars in the series. Dunlop will also provide its fitting service, technical support and service engineering expertise at each race. This latest specification Dunlop GT tyre is an evolution of the tyre last used by the series in 2013 and has already been tested in race conditions with a class win in the most demanding race of them all – on the Nordschleife at the Nurburgring 24h.

The Aston Martin GT4 Cup will race at the country’s top racing circuits such as Silverstone, Donington and Brands Hatch and will be further enhanced in 2015 with Historic Promotions being appointed by Aston Club Racing to manage and raise the profile of the new series.

James Bailey, director, Motorsport Communications at Dunlop stated: “We are delighted to have been chosen as tyre partner for this important and prestigious series. The Aston Martin GT4 Cup will not only play an important role in UK motorsport in developing the International GT drivers of the future, but in also providing a strongly promoted, premium, high profile series for amateur racers. The new series also marks a welcome return for the world of Aston Martin GT4 racing to Dunlop after one year with one of our competitors; and is testimony to the professional service and tyre performance that we offer. Having previously worked closely with Historic Promotions in promoting major racing events, we are confident that Duncan Wiltshire and his team will be able to grow the grids and attract new competitors to race the GT4 Aston Martin V8 Vantages.”
