Kumho recently became the first Korean tyre manufacturer to receive Renault’s Quality award. Sechang Park, chief operating officer and senior vice-president, accepted the award on the tyre maker’s behalf at an event held at Renault Group’s world headquarters in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, during October.

Kumho was one of 11 global supply partners to receive an award from Renault CCO Thierry Bollore and Renault-Nissan’s executive vice-president of purchasing, Christian Vandenhende.

Commenting on the honour, a Kumho representative said: “The achievement of the award, which means so much coming from such an influential car manufacturing company, is largely based on the quality of the tyres we have been supplying. It is to be hoped we can continue to build on the excellent relationship that now exists between Renault and ourselves.”

Kumho is a key supplier to the Group, and its products equip vehicles within the Renault (Captur), Nissan (Rogue), Renault Samsung Motors (SM5 and SM7), and Dacia (Logan) ranges. The Korean tyre manufacturer has also been the sole tyre supplier for Renault Samsung Motors’ electrically-powered SM3 ZE since its debut last October.
