John McGuinness Manx TT tribute pack

Dunlop has launched a tribute pack to celebrate its return as ‘official tyre partner’ to the 2014 Tourist Trophy races. The pack, signed by John McGuinness, includes a specially minted Isle of Man 50p coin, three Isle of Man postage stamps showing McGuinness in full throttle and a piece of the ‘Morecambe Missile’s 2013 race winning tyre as used in laps five and six of the Senior TT.

Dunlop will give the commemorative pack to the first 200 individuals who register their purchase of a set of SportSmart2, RoadSmart II and RoadSmart tyres on lovedunlop.com/ttpromotion before 20 June.

The promotion will run alongside a social media campaign that offers the tyre brand’s followers the chance to own a signed replica of John McGuinness’ 2014 Shoei X Spirit 2 helmet. The Dunlop UK Facebook page now features a dedicated competition tab that will be live until 30th June.

Mark Sears, Dunlop’s Motorcycle product support manager, commented: “We’re really pleased to be returning to the Isle of Man TT as Official Tyre Partner and we want to share that will our fans and followers. We’ve teamed up with John McGuinness as he is a living TT legend who has won 16 Tourist Trophies on Dunlop tyres.

“Racing in the TT plays an important role in developing tyres for the road. As an open competition between tyre manufacturers it further enhances Dunlop’s relentless drive to innovate and develop new technologies to heighten product performance. These developments then cascade to Dunlop’s commercially available tyres, allowing us to take a superior product to market that is rich with motorsport technology.” cja
