Maxxis-sponsored Team Japspeed at Top Gear Live

Date: 11th November 2011 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Winner of the constructor’s title in the 2011 Maxxis British Drift Championship, Team Japspeed will demonstrate its skills at Top Gear Live, which starts today. The Maxxis-sponsored team will perform drift displays at the NEC Arena in Birmingham on 11-13 November and London’s ExCel on 24-27 November.

Piloted by Shane Lynch, Steve Biagioni, Paul Smith and Shane O’Sullivan, the Team Japspeed cars will use more than 2000bhp at each display and although the slippery indoor surface is not ideal for drifting, the team is confident of delivering an amazing treat for the fans. Team Japspeed has performed over a dozen times across Europe including the UK’s AutoSport International, where the drivers put on 12 exhilarating displays over four days in the Live Action Arena.

Maxxis International UK’s managing director Derek McMartin said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for Team Japspeed to showcase drifting – and the championship winning Maxxis MA-Z1 Drift tyre – in front of tens of thousands of Top Gear Live visitors, many of whom will be new to the sport.”
