Point S moves into Turkey

Date: 28th September 2011 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Independent tyre dealers network Point S has more than 1,950 locations in 20 countries, and continues to pursue its international development programme with the announcement that it has entered the Turkish market. The Master Franchise agreement between Point S, represented by its managing directors Jürgen Benz and Christophe Rollet, and Senturkler Holding, represented by co-owner and vice-chairman Senturk Mehmet, was signed in June. The first flagship store was officially opened on 21 September in presence of Senturkler and Point S representatives as well as numerous local politicians, journalists and manufacturers.

Point S is targeting 50 outlets the first year of activity and expects to reach significant market share within a mid-term period. This first step on the borders of the European continent announces further Point S developments on a larger scale. With this in mind, the company will attend the SEMA Show in Las Vegas (1-4 November, Stand 44295) for the first time.

The Senturkler Company, based in Bursa, owns nine car dealerships – including Ford, Kia, Hyundai and Citroen – in Bursa and has been a nationwide distributor of tyres for years. Since the 1950s the company has also developed various activities including textile business, real estate, travel and rent-a-car agencies, and CNC machines distribution. Senturkler has over 1,000 employees on the payroll and its turnover has reached nearly 200 million euros in 2010.
