Yokohama Australia gains ISO 14001
Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., has announced that Yokohama Tyre Australia Pty., Ltd. (YTA), its tyre sales company in Australia, obtained ISO 14001 certification on July 25, 2011. YTA began its efforts toward acquisition of certification in August 2010. Its practices were then reviewed by the Australian examination organization SAI Global Limited, and certified. In addition to ISO 14001, YTA has obtained ISO 9001 certification, an international standard for quality management systems.
In April 2006, Yokohama Rubber released its Medium-Term Management Plan: Grand Design 100 (GD100), including a basic policy of asserting world-class strengths in technologies for protecting the environment. With ISO 14001 at the heart of business operations, domestic and overseas group companies endeavor to maintain uniform-quality, high-level environmental management, and all production sites have been accelerating their efforts to acquire ISO 14001 certification. A total of 28 group companies’ domestic and overseas production sites have been certified.
