National announced product development and fleet appointments

National Tyres and Autocare has appointed Joe Dutton as product development manager to head up the development of sales for non-tyre products. The role will focus on the augmentation of the autocare side of the business which includes exhausts, brakes, batteries, suspension, oil and filter and MOT along with new products and services. According to the company, Dutton will work closely with operations and also with National’s autocare partners and manufacturers to ensure that the product offering is highly competitive.

Joe Dutton has been with the company since 1994 in various roles including pricing manager and project manager. For the last eight years, he has worked as head of operational control which involves management of the retail support department, control of company operating procedures and various purchasing responsibilities. “I relish the challenges that working for a national multi-retailer site brings. I enjoy delivering projects that improve operational efficiency, our service to customers and reduce costs to contribute to making a successful business,” Joe Dutton commented.

Tony Neill, chief executive officer, commented: “The role of Product Development Manager reaffirms National’s commitment to offering a full service package for our customers. We already provide an impressive autocare service offering and are continually investing in these areas; our commitment extends to new services with recent additions such as Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems and Scratch Repair Services available in branch to ensure that National truly is a one stop shop for all out customer’s autocare needs.”

New business sales manager for national fleet

In addition Aron Davies joins the team at National Fleet as sales manager focusing on new business. Davies is familiar with the National brand having worked for the retail arm of the business for a number of years as branch manager. His primary role will be to develop business and grow customer relationships with National’s key Fleet accounts.

“Coming to work for National Tyres was one of the best decisions I have ever made and I am keen to progress and build on my experience within National Fleet,” Aron Davies commented.

Mike Daniels, saes drector, National Fleet added: “We are delighted Aron has joined the team at National Fleet. His knowledge and experience of the business will help him hit the ground running in his new role to develop new relationships and help take the business forward.”
