Hankook Opens Second Canadian Distribution Centre

Date: 16th April 2010 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Hankook Tire Canada Corp. opened its second Canadian distribution centre in Richmond, British Columbia this month, bringing Hankook’s total number of distribution centres serving North America to eight, reports Tire Review. The new distribution centre will support retailers and multiple distribution points in western Canada, according to the company.

“Hankook Tire has experienced great success and a strong presence in western Canada,” said Bill Hume, vice president of Hankook Tire Canada. “We strategically chose the Vancouver region for our second distribution centre to better support our retail customers and distributors, expediting our time to market. This new distribution centre is an integral part of our growth strategy in Canada and part of our global long-term strategy to become a leading, next-generation tyre company.”
The distribution centre will provide dealers with easy access to a complete line of Hankook products, including UHP, passenger car, light truck and medium truck tyres. The facility is expected to significantly reduce lead time for product delivery as the result of a competitive shipping policy which includes pre-paid delivery of qualified orders to direct-account customers, Hankook said.
The Canadian head office in Brampton, which also consists of a state-of-the-art distribution centre, opened in the spring of 2009.
