Wrexham Garage First to Use New Hoffmann Tyre Changer

Date: 15th March 2010 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Snap-on Equipment reports that its first UK customer for the Hofmann Quadriga 1000 automatic tyre changer has taken delivery of the machine. Wrexham-based Minera Tyres & Exhaust has been supplied with the new, state-of-the-art machine, which enables tyres to be automatically demounted and mounted from wheel rims with a diameter of up to 30”. The Quadriga 1000 was supplied by Unipart Garage Equipment Services.

Capable of handling all conventional wheels and ensuring run-flat and ultra high performance tyres are handled safely, Snap-on Equipment developed the Quadriga 1000 to relieve the operator and minimise error sources by automating the tyre changing process, enabling all operations – and bead breaking in particular – to be carried out correctly without the risk of damage to the wheel rim or tyre. James Parry, director, Minera Tyres & Exhaust, comments: “We are delighted with the Hofmann Quadriga 1000 and are confident that with Snap-on Equipment behind it, our new machine will prove to be reliable.  It certainly makes light work of changing low profile and run-flat tyres.”
