Bridgestone Outlines Senior Management Changes

Bridgestone Corporation announced on October 14 that its board of directors has approved the following proposals of the changes in corporate officers.

Changing positions and responsibilities of Corporate Officers – effective October 16, 2008

– Yasumi Kawasaki.
New position and responsibilities: Vice president and senior officer responsible for Quality Management, Quality
Current position and responsibilities: Vice president and senior officer responsible for Quality Management

– Shuichi Ishibashi
New position and responsibilities: Vice president and officer, Replacement Tire Sales Planning and Administration
Current position and responsibilities: Vice president and officer, quality

– Akira Yamashita
New position and responsibilities: Vice president and officer, Commercial Tires Business; concurrently director, Bridgestone/Bandag Mobility Solutions
Current position and responsibilities: Vice president and officer Commercial Tires Business; concurrently director, Bridgestone/Bandag Mobility Solutions; concurrently general manager, Bandag Operation Department

Changing positions and responsibilities of Corporate Officers – effective January 1, 2009

– Shuichi Ishibashi
New position and responsibilities: Vice president and officer, Replacement Tire Sales Planning and Administration, Commercial Tires Solutions Business
Current position and responsibilities: Vice president and officer, Replacement Tire Sales Planning and Administration

– Akira Yamashita
New position and responsibilities: Vice president and officer, seconded to Bridgestone Tire Chubu Hanbai K.K.; chairman, CEO and president of Bridgestone Tire Chubu Hanbai K.K.
Current position and responsibilities: Vice president and officer, Commercial Tires Business; concurrently director, Bridgestone/Bandag Mobility Solutions

– Sugio Fukuoka
New position and responsibilities: Vice president and officer, assistant to vice president and senior officer, responsible for Diversified Products, Sports and Cycle Business Administration
Current position and responsibilities: Vice president and officer, seconded to Bridgestone South Africa Holdings (Pty) Ltd., chairman and CEO of Bridgestone South Africa Holdings (Pty) Ltd.
