Bridgestone Named as Which? Best Buys

Date: 23rd March 2007 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Two of Bridgestone’s tyres have been named “Best Buys” by leading UK consumer magazine, Which? The magazine tested 28 tyres in varying sizes from various manufacturers, with the Bridgestone B250 competing in the 13-inch “Supermini” class, and the Turanza ER300 tested in the 16-inch category. A range of attributes were scrutinised, including dry braking, wet braking, wear and noise. Both the Bridgestone tyres fared well in all these categories, particularly in dry handling where each was given four stars out of a potential five.

“These results are tremendously encouraging for us,” said Andy Lane, marketing manager at Bridgestone UK. “We invest a great deal of time and money in ensuring our products are among the safest, most reliable, and most comfortable on the market, and this test demonstrates that investment is paying off.”

Bridgestone name the B250 as their most technologically advanced general use tyre to date and believe it delivers safe and reliable performance to smaller hatchbacks and saloon cars. The tyre, which was specifically designed to provide optimal handling, comfort, wet grip, and durability, scored well in the dry handling, wet grip and dry braking tests.

In the 16-inch praise the Turanza ER300 touring tyre was recommended as a “Best Buy”, scoring a maximum five stars for its dry handling. Which? magazine described the tyre as “a balanced performer that wears quite well.” Bridgestone state that the Turanza ER300 will complement any mid-range and touring vehicle’s engine power and ride comfort, and features a tread pattern designed to improve drainage away into the main grooves.
