HiQ expands into West London with Southall tyre retail centre
12th May 2025HiQ Tyres & Autocare reports that it has opened a new service centre in Southall. Located on the Dominion Industrial Estate, close to Junction 3 on the M4, HiQ Tyres & Autocare Southall offers “a full range of automotive services including tyre care and fitting, MOTs, vehicle servicing and wheel alignment/ADAS calibrations”. The centre features an eight-ramp workshop, equipped to service everything from everyday cars to commercial vans weighing up to six tonnes.

Goodyear confirms French court charges
14th May 2025A concise statement issued by Goodyear confirms that its Luxembourg-based Goodyear manufacturing subsidiary Goodyear Operations has been charged as part of an investigation into fatal truck crashes that allegedly involved defective tyres. As reported yesterday, a French court has summoned two Goodyear subsidiaries to proceedings taking place this week.

Brand Finance has published its Tyres 25 report for 2025, and this year the independent brand valuation and strategy consultancy welcomes a Chinese tyre brand into the Top 10 of its Most Valuable Tyre Brands ranking. Sailun arrives in tenth place with a brand value of US$905 million, knocking out Toyo Tires.

After the European Commission (EC) published and then withdrew a web page stating that it will initiate an anti-dumping investigation into Chinese-produced car tyres, news of the investigation has now been confirmed by sources in the UK and Europe. In answer to questions from Tyres & Accessories, ITMA chairman Alfred Graham confirmed that “the Chinese Mission in Brussels have been informed by the EU”.
