Aeolus producing 57-inch OTR tyres

At the end of January 2020, Aeolus Tyres announced that the company successfully broke the 57-inch radial OTR tyre barrier. The Aeolus 46/90R57 AG01 earthmover tyre is now the “largest engineering radial tyre” that the company has ever produced.

The new giant OTR tyre has been developed for use on 220 tonne heavy duty mine dump trucks.

January’s announcement follows a much earlier milestone – an Aeolus 36.00-51 tubeless tyre back in the 1980s. However, the engineering challenges associated with such heavy-duty giant OTR tyres are so great that it has taken around 40 years for the company to join a very select group of tyremakers capable of making new radial OTR tyres of 57-inches wheel diameter and above.
