Pirelli representatives attend autoclave incident hearing

Pirelli representatives attended a procedural hearing at Carlisle Crown Court on 6 October in the ongoing case related to death of George Falder. The hearing saw the judge sets the timescales for the next steps of the case.

A Pirelli spokesperson said: “The Company remains saddened by the tragic incident involving George Falder, and Pirelli’s thoughts and sincere condolences remain with Mr Falder’s family and friends. The company has always been committed to ensuring high levels of health and safety for all of its employees. It has fully cooperated with the HSE’s investigation throughout, however it would be inappropriate to comment any further at this stage.”

The case refers to the death of Pirelli manufacturing employee George Falder who was found dead inside an autoclave at the firm’s Carlisle factory on 29 September 2012.
