Geneva Motor Show announces 2015 dates

The 85th Geneva International Motor Show will run between 5 and 15 March 2015 at Palexpo, the exhibition’s organisers have announced. In parallel, the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Zurich University of the Arts) has been mandated for the creation of the official poster/graphic for the 2015 edition of the show.

The allocation of the stands has now begun and will take place until September, when the final allocations will be confirmed. “The satisfaction of the exhibitors at the 2014 Motor Show and the fact that a number of marques have asked for additional space indicates that the 2015 edition will be even more in demand and auspicious”, according to Maurice Turrettini, president of the event.

In 2014, the Geneva International Motor Show registered some 670,000 visitors. A survey of more than 30,000 visitors revealed that the number of non-Swiss visitors achieved a new high of 48 per cent since 2001 and re-emphasised the international nature of the show.  The French were the largest group with 33 per cent followed by the Italians (5%), the Germans (2%) and 90 other nationalities (8%).  Female visitors were also more numerous with a participation rate of 24 per cent versus 19 per cent in 2012.  81 per cent of the visitors were between 18 and 54 years old. 46 per cent attended with the intention of purchasing a new car.
