Metzeler supersport, touring tyres to be introduced by Steven Tyler

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler co-founded Dirico Motorcycles USA, which uses Metzeler rubber as OE on its custom-designed bikes

Metzeler has enlisted some celebrity help to introduce its latest models at the Metzeler Legendary Knight, a free entrance and open bar event to be held on 5 November at Fonderia Napoleonica in the Motoquartiere of Milan. Aerosmith frontman and Dirico Motorcycles USA spokesman, Steven Tyler will unveil Metzeler’s custom touring ME 888 Marathon Ultra tyre in a Whitewall version and new 23” front size, while popular British rider Guy Martin will help the brand launch its new Sportec M7 RR supersport tyre.

Tyler is an ardent fan of custom motorcycles, founding Dirico Motorcycles USA alongside Mark Dirico and Stephen Talarico in 2007, specialising in custom motorcycles. Metzeler tyres have long shod the company’s creations, among them also the new ME 888 Marathon Ultra.

The brand says Guy Martin, British icon of road races such as the legendary Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, represents the best technology and the features of the new supersport tyre from Metzeler. The Sportec M7 RR has been developed from experience in road racing competitions where, together with Guy Martin, they triumphed this year in the Southern 100 and Ulster Grand Prix in addition to countless podiums and successes with other supported riders during the Tourist Trophy and the North West 200.

The event, organized in collaboration with Dirico Motorcycles USA and with Rolling Stone Italian magazine, will take place on Tuesday November 5 starting at 9pm in the Motoquartiere in the heart of Milan, at Fonderia Napoleonica location situated in G. G. Thaon Di Revel, 21 Street. Motorcyclists and fans of the German brand of tyres will have the opportunity to gather together for the evening, with music by the Bud Spencer Blues Explosion.

The tyres will reach international markets from the beginning of 2014.
