Dunlop tyre in line for green award

The Dunlop Sport BluResponse is a finalist in the ‘Green Steering Wheel 2013’, an annual competition held by leading car publication AutoBild in Germany.

The seventh edition of the German automotive green award looks at cars and components which deliver new achievements in sustainability. Dunlop’s Sport BluResponse – the only tyre listed among the 25 finalists – joins a whole host of electric and hybrid cars, as well as several key technological innovations working with or around more sustainable fuel sources, materials and technologies.

The tyre was selected because it came out top in the publication’s recent summer tyre test and its fuel-saving test. It also scored high label grades, delivering a solid BA rating according to the new European Tyre Label.

Five finalists will be chosen by the magazine’s readers, the German Minister for the Environment and automotive experts from across Europe. The final five will then be tested by another professional jury, which will choose a winner in early November.
