After a week on the road, travelling some 1,000 miles to the Arctic Circle, the 2013 Fulda Challenge has ended with Team Austria at the top of the table. The Austrian team, made up of Renate Reingruber and Andreas Leiter, secured overall top points in the ten events in this year's Challenge. Bilstein, the Ennepetal-based shock absorber, suspension and spring specialist, has added roughly 220 new part numbers to its B1, B3 and B4 universal spare parts product lines. The company added more than 70 applications to its Bilstein B1 range of accessories in the latter half of 2012; 90 parts numbers were added to the Bilstein B3; and an extra 50 new applications were also added to the Bilstein B4 range.

There are reports from the North American International Auto Show, (Detroit, Jan 14 – 27) that Volkswagen will decide this year whether to introduce a new budget brand aimed at developing markets.

The PRA report commissioned from Christie & Co looked at the planning applications for new petrol filling stations between 2009 and the third quarter of 2012. Continental AG reports that 2012 was another record year for the automotive supplier. Despite slumping auto markets in Europe, the corporation reports in preliminary figures that it boosted 2012 sales by more than 7 per cent to approximately 32.7 billion euros. At around 10.7 per cent, the adjusted EBIT margin topped the previous year's figure of 10.1 per cent.
