Translogik gets further tyre tool order from EDP

Date: 26th June 2012 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Transense Technologies plc reports that its Translogik Ltd trading division has received a further order for 60 of its truck tyre inspection kits from its French partner, EDP. The tools will be supplied as part of EDP's commercial fleet management systems. Jean-Luc Giusti, CEO of EDP commented: "We are continuing to develop our range of electronic tyre inspection solutions that integrate the Translogik tools with our commercial fleet management software. Our customers demand systems that can operate reliably and accurately, 24/7, and the best-in-class Translogik solution is the only tool we recommend."

Graham Storey, CEO of Transense, commented: “We are now seeing regular orders from our global partner network and anticipate this trend continuing as the requirement to maximise tyre life and performance becomes an increasing imperative for fleet operators as they seek to reduce vehicle running costs. A recent study commissioned by one of our South African customers demonstrated an 88 per cent reduction in the time required to inspect a truck’s tyres by using Translogik inspection technology – we believe this demonstrates the value of the products and are confident that we have the leading solution in the developing electronic tyre inspection market.”

In February EDP (Electronic Data Process), a French company based in Champfeuillet, with a regional office in Thailand announced that it had been working with Euromaster for some time developing a mobile fleet maintenance system capable of providing accurate, real-time data, across its service network in Europe.

The EDP Fleet Check system is currently installed in 18 countries, and installations in six further countries are expected during 2012. According to the company, EDP has a “very strong relationship” with Translogik. EDP reports that this system is the only one that would meet Euromaster’s “tough operational requirements.”
