European launch for Yokohama’s BluEarth AE-01

Date: 17th February 2012 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Almost a year ago Yokohama Rubber introduced the first of its BluEarth series, the BluEarth-1, into Europe. Now the European BluEarth portfolio is to be extended with the release of the BluEarth AE-01 fuel-efficient range of standard passenger car tyres. Scheduled for introduction into our region in March, the AE-01 will be available in 40 sizes from 205/55R16 91H to 155/80R13 79T. Following the tyre’s European launch it will also be introduced into other global markets.

Yokohama says it developed the BluEarth AE-01 primarily for compact cars, an area where demand in increasing, and because it sought to make a greater contribution to global environmental preservation by increasing the uptake of fuel-efficient tyres. For the AE-01, Yokohama’s BluEarth Technology, first seen in the flagship BluEarth-1 range, has been adapted for use in a mainstream, standard product. Through materials and technologies such as nano blend rubber, orange oil, aerodynamic design and weight reduction, the tyre maker says high levels of safety and comfort have been achieved in addition to fuel-efficient performance.
