KRT’s £5 million agricultural inventory

Date: 16th January 2012 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Major agricultural tyre supplier to the UK market, Kings Road Tyres boasts a £5 million inventory of agricultural tyres, making it the country’s foremost trade supplier for this specialist sector, according to KRT. The wholesaler is the official wholesale distributor for major manufacturers Michelin, Firestone, Trelleborg and Goodyear as well as being the exclusive UK wholesaler of both the Taurus and Jetire brands, and its private brand range of Kingstone brand tubes. In addition the line-up has recently been further extended by the addition of Kleber in 2011.

The Kleber range includes: the Super 3 narrow tyre for row crop applications; the Traker general purpose tyre for tractors up to 140 HP; the Fitker lower profile wider tyre for tractors up to 200hp; and the Topker high power range for tractors up to 300hp.

Tim Bader, KRT’s marketing manager explains: “It’s very important for us to have an extensive agricultural brand line up so we can offer our customers a range of tyres covering both premium and economy products to suit all of their requirements. In addition to our comprehensive product ranges we have consolidated the KRT network of seven distribution warehouses across the UK.” KRT’s distribution system allows it to stock more of the products most popular in that area of the country; for example larger, higher power tractor tyres for the bigger arable farms in East Anglia compared to the generally smaller sized tyres used by dairy farmers in the South West.

By using its own delivery fleet of around 50 vehicles the company says it can provide a more competitive and responsive delivery service. “One of the benefits of this approach is that we can offer customers no minimum delivery quantity on radial agricultural tyres and a £50 minimum value order on other lines,” says Bader. KRT also explains that its trade-only policy undercuts the tyre specialist in terms of both product sales and the service opportunities available in this specialist sector.
