Titan Releases Goodyear DT 930 Agri Tyre

Date: 11th February 2010 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Goodyear Farm Tires, a Titan Tire Corporation brand, has introduced a new tyre the company says is suited to wet conditions. To help it achieve this wet condition operability, the DT 930 TM in size 1100/45R46 features a low sidewall (LSW) aspect ratio.

“The DT 930 tyres proved themselves this fall in the wet fields of Illinois,” said Titan chairman and CEO Maurice M. Taylor Jr. “The wide, deep lugs provide excellent flotation, which enables the user to harvest his crops with combines equipped with DT 930 1100/45R46 tyres. These tyres were able to power through muddy fields that narrower dualled tyres could not.”

The DT 930 is intended to provide high torque transmission and reduce compaction in the field, while its low sidewall design is claimed to provide stability on side slopes. According to Titan, the tyre is agriculture’s largest radial, standing 85-inches tall and almost four feet wide, and is designed to reduce vehicle bounce, loping and power hop. When the 1100 tyre is mounted to a large 46-inch Titan wheel, tire-to-rim slippage is reported to be minimised. These tyres have been approved by equipment manufacturer AGCO for use on its Challenger brand tractors.

Flotation, Titan adds, can be maximized when dualled on four-wheel drive and mechanical front wheel drive tractors. DT 930 tyres with appropriately sized wheels can be used in place of narrower dual rear tractor tyres.
