Kumho at the Winter Olympics

Date: 27th February 2006 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Kumho has supplied some 85 per cent of the tyres in use on official Winter Olympics shuttle cars. Athletes, officials, members of the Olympic committee, VIPs are all relying on Kumho I’Zen XW KW17 snow tyres when it comes to being transferred between competition sites

For Kumho, involvement in the Turin Winter Olympics is extremely important. The current world number 11 tyre manufacturer says it intends to reach eighth place by 2009 and to be fifth by 2015. Therefore, Kumho says it is focusing on high-end marketing opportunities like the Olympics in order to present itself as a “strategic, innovative and marketing-oriented partner for the international automotive industry.”

The KW17 is currently available, on the German market, in 32 sizes from 165/65 R13 and 225/55 R16 up to 265/35 R18 in 65/60/55/50/45/40 and 35.
