Prinx Chengshan launches A-rated truck tyre in Europe
During the recent IAA 2022 truck event in Germany, Chinese tyremaker Prinx Chengshan released its TH155 truck tyre pattern. The new trailer hybrid, OE oriented tyre is described as having “outstanding overall performance”, something that is attested by its “A” and “B” ratings for wet grip and fuel consumption on the European tyre label (in 385/65 R22.5). The tyre will be marketed under the Austone ATH155 and Fortune FTH155 brand names.

ZC Rubber launches two truck products, WTR2 A-rated on tyre label
ZC Rubber launched two new truck tyre products at the recent IAA Transportation 2022 event in Hannover. The WTR2 and the WTX2 tyres are being added to the existing Westlake Gen II truck tyre line. Maxion to supply low-carbon wheel options
Thanks to its delivery of low-CO2 steel wheel options to commercial vehicle manufacturers and fleets, Maxion Wheels says it is “ahead of the curve on carbon footprint savings.” But the world’s largest wheel manufacturer anticipates that by 2025, it will be able to offer steel commercial vehicle wheels with a cradle-to-gate carbon footprint more than 65 per cent lower than current wheels.

Maxion launches ‘Europe’s lightest’ steel truck wheel
Although Maxion Wheels is setting up a new facility for manufacturing forged aluminium commercial vehicle wheels, its traditional strength is steel wheels. Expansions in Turkey and Brazil have increased the company’s global capacity for these products to ten million pieces annually, and Maxion has now debuted what it claims is “Europe’s lightest mass-produced steel truck wheel.” The first of these lightweight wheels arrives in size 22.5 x 11.75.

Maxion Wheels adding forged aluminium products to CV portfolio
The truck steel wheel plant that Maxion Wheels and Inci Holding have jointly built in Turkey is ready to open, and during last week’s IAA Transportation show the two companies additionally announced plans to set up a facility for manufacturing aluminium commercial vehicle wheels. Maxion Wheels says adding forged aluminium commercial vehicle wheels “rounds out” its globally leading steel wheels portfolio, making Maxion a “one-stop option for truck and trailer manufacturers.”

NFDA comments on ‘mini budget’

Kumho’s Ecsta tyres cover 3,174 miles, 16 countries in Euro EV Marathon
Kumho Tyre (UK) supported the Max Adventure team as it beat its original time target on the Driven To Extremes Euro EV Marathon. The team covered its 3,174 mile-route from Oslo to Portugal in just 3.75 days in the fully electric Kia EV6 ‘Air’ fitted with Kumho’s Ecsta PS71 EV tyre. The team knocked 47 minutes off the time set by Sir Stirling Moss in 1952, adding an extra country to the list of those visited. The challenge was designed to show that a standard EV and current charging infrastructure can now allow drivers to cover vast distances in a short time. The Kumho Ecsta PS71 EV is an original fitment on the Kia EV6, with the 235/55R19 size used by the challenge car throughout the trial.

FCC TSR Honda France wins FIM Endurance World Championship on Bridgestone Tyres
FCC TSR Honda France has won the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme Endurance World Championship (EWC) title on Bridgestone’s Battlax tyres. This is the third time a team supplied by Bridgestone has won the worlds foremost series of endurance motorcycle races since 2018. The second placed Yoshimura Sert Motul ranked second in the EWC series, also on Bridgestone tyres. Bridgestone has supplied grippy, durable Battlax tyres to the EWC since 2017. It says this motorsport deal, alongside its other global motorsport partnerships, embodies its commitment to inspire mobility excitement under Bridgestone’s E8 strategy.
