8-month consecutive decline in new LCV market
5th August 2025The National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA), which represents franchised car and commercial vehicle retailers in the UK, has called the eight months of continuous decline in light commercial vehicle registrations a reflection of “ongoing pressure on demand and economic uncertainty.” In July, light commercial vehicle (LCV) dealers registered a total of 23,433 new vans and light commercials, reflecting a -5.1 per cent decrease compared with the same month last year. This marks the eighth consecutive monthly decline in registrations, as demand has continued to fall steadily throughout 2025.

“Unstable & highly unpredictable times” – Michelin reports lower H1 2025 sales, income
Net income at Michelin fell 27.7 per cent year-on-year in the first half of 2024, pushed down by a mixture of lower sales and tyre volumes, particularly in the original equipment segment. This €840 million net income equates to earnings per share of €1.18, down from €1.62 in Q1 2024.
