Falken tyres win VW Polo original equipment approval

Falken’s Azenis FK453, Sincera 832A Ecorun, Ziex  ZE914A EC, and Eurowinter HS449 winter tyre have been chosen as original equipment on the sixth-generation Volkswagen Polo. The tyres are all produced at the Sumitomo Rubber Industries plant in Thailand.

“The range and attributes of our tyres complement the broad requirements of the VW Polo. From tyres for drivers seeking a sporting ride through to tyres for drivers whose priorities are energy efficiency and mileage, we will deliver tyres to suit every application,” comments Christian Stolting, key account manager OE at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH. “We offer an extensive portfolio of tyres that regularly convince independent testing organisations as well as being praised by drivers themselves and we are naturally delighted to hear that this has been underlined by VW. We see the decision as confirmation of our consistent high performance in both development and production.”

Each of Falken’s products have won magazine test plaudits. The Azenis FK453 convinced the test teams at German motoring magazine Auto Zeitung, who rated the tyre ‘Highly Recommended’; the Eurowinter HS449 has received three ‘Recommended’ ratings from the Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle and Touring Club (ÖAMTC) and the Swiss Touring Club (TCS), and Auto Bild; the Ziex ZE914 Ecorun is rated ‘Good’ and ‘Recommended’ by Auto Bild in two fitments; and the Sincera SN832 Ecorun, developed using the company’s 4D-Nano Design simulation system was ranked ‘Good’ by the German Automobile Club (ADAC) and ‘Highly Recommended’ by both the ÖAMTC and TCS.

Falken will supply tyres to the new Polo in the following sizes:
