Mahle Aftermarket introduces new division, appoints European head

Nicolas de Gaudemont will become the new head of Mahle Aftermarket’s European business

This year’s Automechanika show in Frankfurt, Germany is the scene of several debuts for Mahle Aftermarket. The Mahle business unit specialising in spare parts is introducing its new Mahle Service Solutions division; this new division expands Mahle Aftermarket’s product portfolio to include repair shop equipment. Other first-time highlights on display this year (hall 3.0, stands A11 and A20) include complete solutions from Mahle for air management, oil management, piston systems and cylinder components, and engine cooling.

The company opines that the creation of the Mahle Service Solutions division enables Mahle Aftermarket to meet growing service and maintenance requirements: “Vehicles today have increasingly complex systems to improve efficiency, comfort, and safety. Consequently, repair shops are seeing growing demand for particularly high-performance, practical repair shop service units as well as a comprehensive range of services to allow them to carry out any necessary work professionally and efficiently. Mahle Service Solutions offers a comprehensive portfolio of products and services from a single source – specifically for maintenance of HVAC systems, replacement of fluids, and nitrogen tyre filling systems to maintain a constant tyre pressure. The portfolio is rounded off by a package of services with special training, a hotline, technical documentation, and knowledge-based troubleshooting.”

Mahle Aftermarket under new management in Europe

As well as introducing a new division, the business unit has announced a new regional head. On 1 November, Nicolas de Gaudemont will become the new head of Mahle Aftermarket’s European business. The 47-year-old boasts many years of experience in the automotive industry, having held the roles of Europe marketing director and managing director at Honeywell Friction Materials, as well as Aftermarket business unit director at brake system manufacturer Brembo. His most recent position was Aftermarket business unit director at UFI Filters Group. French-born de Gaudemont will report to Olaf Henning, head of the Mahle Aftermarket division. Henning, in turn, was appointed managing director of Mahle Aftermarket GmbH on 1 July 2014, thereby taking on responsibility for the business’ global aftermarket. He reports to Arnd Franz, who now focuses on the areas of sales and application engineering within the MAHLE Management Board.
