UK retreaded tyre production up in 2013

Retreaded truck tyre production amongst members of the Retread Manufacturer Association (RMA) rose 1.8 per cent to 463,591 units in 2013. However, at the same time pre-cure retread sales are said to have fallen 4.7 per cent to 113,676. Meanwhile mould cure retread reportedly benefited from this and sales grew 4.1 per cent to 347,915.

At the same time light truck retread sales increased 2. 5 per cent to 56,765 units. Once again there was increase in mould cure sales while pre-cure retread sales fell. This time the gap was more marked with mould cure sales up 10 per cent and pre-cure down 9.2 per cent.

And finally passenger car retread production showed a 2.6 per cent increase to 133,534 units, whilst agricultural and earthmover rose 3.3 per cent to 6364 units.
