Maxxis offering ‘e-Marked ATV tyres for on and off-road use’
Maxxis reports that it “remains at the forefront of ATV tyre development” with its range of utility, ATV and specialist sports quad tyres, renowned for delivering superb all-round performance across a variety of applications. And, of course, all these are useful in farming and agricultural applications. With all this in mind, it probably won’t come as a surprise that Maxxis is an accredited OE supplier to all the top ATV manufacturers, including Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Polaris and Suzuki.
According to the company, the premium range of Maxxis E-Marked ATV products includes the M917/M918 Bighorn Radial. As well as an “aggressive” tread pattern, this product’s construction reportedly offers a significantly smoother ride over rough trails, making it a choice for recreational riders as well as ATV/Side by Side racers who appreciate the superior ride quality. All sizes available in the UK – from 25×8.00-12 to 27×11.00-14 – are E-Marked, ensuring the Bighorn meets legal requirements for road use.
Another tyre, the 6-ply Razr2 is said to be the culmination of extensive research and development by Maxxis as well as input from race champions. The increased lug depth is designed to offer increased skid and traction control, while the aggressive angled tread pattern improves steering and braking. Developed to provide the optimum set-up in all kinds of weather conditions, the Razr2 is also E-Marked street legal.
As well as being market leader for ATV tyres, Maxxis reportedly has the reputation of being one of the world’s top three providers of tyres for the amenity market. The market-leading Turfmaxx was the first road legal turf tyre to go on sale in the UK and is purpose designed to address the safety issues associated with the extra roadwork implements cover between jobs.
In addition Trailermaxx is Maxxis’ range of high speed trailer tyres which aim to deliver improved fuel economy and enhanced tread life along with low noise and a smooth ride. They are available in a large number of sizes and speed ratings, from the CR966 145 R10 82/84N 8pr – which is designed to carry big loads and exceeds the load capacity of some competitor tyres – to the 5.00-10 8pr, the 155/70 R12C and the 185/60 R12C.
