Cooper Tire a Sears Holdings ‘Partner in Progress’
Sears Holdings, parent company of US retail chains Sears and K-Mart, has named Cooper Tire & Rubber a 2010 Partner in Progress. In acknowledging receipt of this award, which Cooper Tire gained through the supply of its passenger and light truck tyres, the tyre maker notes that less than one per cent of the more than 30,000 Sears Holdings suppliers are recognised in this way each year.
“The Partners in Progress award has recognised the commitment, quality and innovation of our top-performing supplier partners for the last 30 years,” commented Lou D’Ambrosio, president and chief executive officer of Sears Holdings Corporation. “The dedication of these suppliers allows us to continue to present our customers quality services, which support our company’s goal of becoming the leader in integrated retail – in-store, online and at home.”
“Earning this award is a significant achievement for Cooper Tire,” said Chris Ostrander, Cooper’s president of its North America tyre operations. “This recognition is a testament to the importance Sears places on having strong supplier relationships, and at the same time, it underscores Cooper’s commitment and dedication to delivering quality products and service. We are proud to be a tire partner with Sears, and look forward to continuing our long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
The Partners in Progress recipients are selected from nominations submitted by Sears Holdings’ associates who purchased goods and services from suppliers in 2010. The award recognises suppliers for product or service quality, innovation, diversity and overall market performance.
