Date: 4th January 2010 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

In late December Cooper Tire & Rubber announced the appointment of Brenda S. Harmon to the position of senior vice president, Global Human Resources and Communications. In her new role, Harmon is leading all human resource and employee relations activities for the company.

Harmon has been chief human resources officer for a number of public and private companies. Cooper reports she has also held various senior management positions, where during a 28-year career, she managed all aspects of human resources, including compensation and benefit administration, talent acquisition and development, employee communications and employee relations.

“Brenda’s expertise and breadth of knowledge will be a tremendous asset to the Cooper Tire organisation, and I look forward to her added guidance as she becomes a member of the executive leadership team,” said Cooper Tire chairman, president and CEO Roy Armes. “She is not only a seasoned human resource executive, but also one whose skills and experience align very well with our company’s needs. Her proven experience, solid organisational and leadership development skills, and track record of building strong management and human resource teams will be an invaluable asset to us as we continue to grow the company.”

Harmon holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, and a master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana. Her office will be located at Cooper’s global headquarters in Findlay, Ohio.
