New ConRad Tyre Strengthens Continental Radial Range

Date: 10th February 2006 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Continental Tyres has introduced the new ConRad tyre, a powerful addition to its radial industrial range. The manufacturer describes the ConRad is “ideally suited for heavy transport or lift trucks carrying loads up to 10 tonnes in weight, operating on smooth, paved and mixed terrain.”

Engineers designed the ConRad following operator demands for a heavy-duty radial tyre that provides the same outstanding performance of the ConRad HT but across a broader range of applications. The ConRad shares the new generation radial construction of the ConRad HT, which is designed for cooler running, increased mileage and exceptional durability, while its antistatic compound means improved safety in operation.

An innovative triple-rib deep tread pattern opens up the performance benefits of the ConRad range to even more applications. The idea is that the triple-rib tread wears evenly for improved mileage as well as reducing tyre noise. At the said time it is said to feature a robust radial carcass that provides cushioning and damping as well as durability and high mileage performance.

Continental says it will replace the following five sizes out of the existing ConRad HT portfolio with the new ConRad during the first quarter of 2006: 7.00R12, 8.25R15, 250/70R15, 315/70R15, 12.0020.
