Cabot Corporation’s enormous $60 million Tianjin, China carbon black factory is set to go online in March 2006, according to a report by Tianjin Daily.

The new production line is expected to start with an annual output of 60,000-tons, increasing to as much as 200,000 tons. This means the plant will account for one fifth of the country’s total output and would make it the largest carbon black factory in the world.

12 per cent of US$60 million Cabot has invested in the plant has been allocated for the implementation of environmental-friendly procedures.
